We got tired of slow, broken training. So we built something better.
Most instructor-led training feels like it’s stuck in 2003.
Long lectures. Off-the-shelf content. Big vendor price tags. And after all that? Your team still doesn’t have the skills they actually need.
Tami was born out of that frustration. Our founders, Kelby Zorgdrager and Dean Hiller, have been on both sides of this mess. Kelby built a top-tier custom ILT company that served the Fortune 500, eventually acquired by Pluralsight. Dean led engineering orgs that needed real, fast skill development. And both kept running into the same problems:
So they’re building Tami: a smarter way to do live, expert-led training.
With Tami, you can:
It’s like building your own internal training engine, minus the overhead.
No bloat. No brokering. No boxed content.
Just relevant, practical, people-first learning that actually works.
Vision
To transform how the world learns at work by making instructor-led training as flexible, personalized, and scalable as modern teams demand.
Mission
Tami exists to reinvent the corporate ILT experience—connecting companies with top-tier instructors, customized content, and smart delivery infrastructure that fits how real teams operate. We’re here to eliminate the friction, break the one-size-fits-all model, and turn learning into a growth engine that actually works.
Team
Kelby Zorgdrager is a builder of code, companies, and game-changing learning experiences. Starting out as a developer, he quickly noticed a major gap between how devs work and how they’re usually trained. That realization eventually led him to Sun Microsystems, where he played a key role in shaping their educational services. In 2006, he launched DevelopIntelligence to offer deeply customized, hands-on training for engineering and R&D teams. Under his leadership, the company became a go-to partner for Fortune 500s and was later acquired by Pluralsight, where Kelby led the charge in scaling their instructor-led training division.
Dean Hiller, the technical brain behind Tami, has spent his career building scalable systems that actually work—whether in high-frequency trading, healthtech, or startup life. He’s a coder who thinks in systems, a leader who’s guided engineering teams through some gnarly technical challenges, and a co-founder who’s always looking for elegant, practical solutions. His partnership with Kelby just makes sense: Kelby knows the pain points in training inside and out, and Dean has the engineering chops to tackle them head-on. Their skill sets don’t just complement, they accelerate each other.
Story
For years, corporate learning leaders have tried to make instructor-led training work at scale. But under the hood, the process has barely changed. Sourcing instructors, negotiating contracts, juggling logistics, and trying to fit cookie-cutter content into a unique engineering org, it’s still clunky, slow, and inconsistent. And let’s be honest: most ILT providers are pulling from the same pool of contract practitioners, delivering the same slide decks, over and over again.
That’s where Tami comes in. Tami was built to fix the messy, outdated infrastructure behind corporate ILT. It’s not just a scheduling tool or a course catalog, it’s a full-stack SaaS platform designed to make instructor-led training smarter, faster, and actually effective.
Tami is here to deliver curated instructors (not just whoever’s available), content that’s tailored to the specific team, and delivery that flexes with how modern dev and product teams actually work. No more generic workshops. No more black-box vendor relationships. Tami gives companies control and clarity from sourcing elite instructors to customizing delivery formats to tracking real learning outcomes. It removes the friction, eliminates the rinse-and-repeat trainer loop, and makes ILT feel like a strategic capability, not a broken checkbox.
